The Workshop is an exciting new development for us at Coastalfoods.
Waste and recycling
Every year the UK sends over 27 million tonnes of waste to landfill and this breaks down and produces methane gases that are released into the environment and contribute towards global warming. The workshop has installed a composter, which can be used to dispose of the majority of vegetable peelings and off-cuts. All suppliers will be asked to take excess packaging away once the goods have been delivered.
Packaging
In our attempt to reduce our environmental footprint, we have sourced a supplier who can provide biodegradable/recyclable packaging, which we will utilize across our range.
Energy
To compliment this workshop will be using energy from a renewable source.
Seasonal produce
Within East Anglia we produce a vast array of seasonal fruit and vegetables. Bryan will be using seasonal, local/regional produce within the workshop.
